SERBIAN ASSOCIATION OF EMPLOYERS SELECTS AGENT PLUS TO LEAD THE TRANSPORT SECTOR
On 2 December 2020, the constitutive meeting of the “Transport Sector of the Serbian Association of Employers” was held, at which the representatives of the “Serbian Association of Employers” elected a new leadership and considered proposals for additional measures aimed at improving the functioning of the transport sector in the period ahead.
The session was held online, in accordance with the recommendations and measures of the Government of Serbia to prevent and curb the infectious disease COVID-19.
The General Director of Agent Plus, Mr Zoran Netković, was elected president, while Saša Vlaisavljević, Director of Nikola Tesla Airport, was appointed as his deputy. Alongside renowned business entities, professional associations also take part in the sector’s work: PUMED, Panontransport and Srbija transport.
The measures taken so far by the Government of the Republic of Serbia have significantly helped the economy to maintain liquidity and function as efficiently as possible; however, the SAE recognised the need for employers to organise themselves further and to launch activities and initiatives, in order to further improve the business environment under the difficult conditions of the coronavirus pandemic and to overcome the numerous problems and delays in operations.
In line with this, the members present had the opportunity to become acquainted with the initiatives that the SAE members had submitted to the Sector, which will form an integral part of the proposal for improving the functioning of the transport sector and will be submitted for consideration to the competent ministries.
“The fact that the Serbian Association of Employers is the only employers’ association in Serbia that is a representative social partner at the national level and an active participant in the process of Serbia’s rapprochement with the European Union gives members the opportunity to have the interests of their companies represented in a transparent and institutional manner through dialogue with the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the trade unions and other administrative bodies, as well as domestic and foreign institutions and organisations. For that reason, we accepted the invitation to become actively involved in the work of the Transport Sector of the Serbian Association of Employers and, with our knowledge and many years of experience in the field of logistics, to contribute to overcoming the consequences of the crisis caused by the COVID-19 virus pandemic and to improving the business environment in the Serbian economy,” said Zoran Netković, Director of the maritime and river agency “Agent Plus” from Belgrade.
